Tulsk Action Group Ltd (TAG) was established in 1996 and inspired by the ArchaeoGeophysical Imaging Project (AGIP) at Rathcroghan. This involved the coming together of the local community to use Rathcroghan as an economic driver for the area.
In 1999, TAG obtained funding from the Irish Tourist Board, now Fáilte Ireland, for the provision of a Museum as a flagship project in an area which had little tourism development.
In 2013, TAG was approved for a Roscommon LEADER Partnership grant, enabling us to reinvigorate the interpretive facilities, and ultimately, the Centre as a whole. The displays were developed directly through collaboration between the staff, academic researchers and professional practitioners.
The active involvement of the Centre’s staff created a sense of pride and ownership over the public presentation of the Rathcroghan Archaeological Landscape.
