I am from the parish of Taughmaconnell in south Roscommon, and love nothing more than exploring the archaeology and heritage of my native county. From an early age, I have always had an intense interest in the past, something which my family has had to endure for many years, and a patience that they still require to present day.
I am a graduate of NUI Galway, with a BA in History, MA in Medieval Studies, PDip in Education and I have recently completed a PhD in Archaeology. Being able to use these skills to bring Rathcroghan to life is incredibly rewarding, and I am very lucky to be able to do so in my own home area.
I love bringing the visitor around Rathcroghan, and my particular interest is drawn to the medieval aspects of the landscape, around Tulsk, Ard Caoin and Rathcroghan, and where and how the Gaelic elite lived in this area. I have presented and published on a range of topics, and am a member of the Taughmaconnell Historical and Heritage Group.
