About Michael Conroy
I am from the parish of Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, and live in the shadow of the famous O’Conor stronghold of Ballintubber Castle. A proud Roscommon man, my background is in catering and I have worked here at Rathcroghan Visitor Centre in that capacity since 2021. I have always had a deep interest in history and when the opportunity arose to join the tour guiding team, I was happy to be accepted.
As a local, and part-time farmer, I can hopefully give the visitor some insight into what it’s like to work in harmony with such an historical landscape. It’s my aim to get the visitor, especially our Irish ones whom might not have previously heard about Rathcroghan, excited about our National Monuments.
I am proud of what we provide here and our progress and success. I look forward to continuing to broaden my knowledge and to help make your experience in Rathcroghan come to life.
